“Learning by doing”, that is the motto of the Clausthal University of Technology and it happens not in overcrowded auditorium or laboratories but most of the time in small groups. Thereby co-operation and team spirit are supported and fellow students from different disciplines such as geoscience, petroleum engineering, energy technology, environmental technology or business administration and economic science are working side by side. This circumstances not only create interesting linkages to other fields of studies but also found long-lasting friendships.

The Institute of Petroleum Engineering is one of a few in the German-speaking countries. The institute is the only one in Germany which offers a course of studies Petroleum Engineering with the specialization in

• Drilling & Production Technology

Due to the fact that the petroleum industry is keen to employ graduates with a BSc/MSc degree in petroleum engineering, it supports substantially the institute and the education provided.
